Work has started on the first phase of the Cambridge Retail Park redevelopment.
The proposals, which were approved by Cambridge City Council in 2023, will see one of the Newmarket Road car parks redeveloped into a green space with a café pavilion.
Developer Railpen has put up temporary fences in several parking areas as preparatory construction works have begun to make way for the new building.
Railpen has also submitted a planning application to replace buildings on Newmarket Road with a brand new complex of shops and offices.
