Trees have fallen, train passengers have been told not to travel and there are a number of power cuts as Storm Ciara rolls across Cambridgeshire.
The M11 was shut in both directions between junction 10 at Duxford and junction 9 at Saffron Walden for safety reasons after Storm Ciara caused damage to an aircraft hanger at the IWM Duxford Airfield.
There was widespread disruption to rail services with Greater Anglia trains suspended between Ely and Norwich and Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds due to fallen trees on the line.
One of the stands at Wisbech Town Football Club (pictured) was also damaged in the high winds.
Thousands of people across Cambridgeshire were without electricity with UK Power Networks confirming power cuts in Ely, St Ives, Bourne, Shepreth, Burwell and Soham.
Milton Country Park in Cambridge has been shut until Monday for safety reasons.
