Plans to redevelop the Abbey Stadium have been delayed, according to club staff.
The U's want to increase the capacity of the ground to around 12,000 as well as building a new shop, offices and club museum.
The proposals were expected in the football close season in the summer of 2024, but they are now due by the end of the year, with a planning application set to be submitted by the summer of 2025.
Last month, Cambridge United unveiled their new identity, including a new club crest from summer 2025.

"Cambridge United is seeking to modernise for the long term as a club and the stadium redevelopment is at the heart of that. We had hoped to set out plans in the summer, but the timetable has slipped to the end of the year.
"In the meantime, I wanted to update fans on the five interlocking critical areas we are trying to align so that the project can move forward with the best chance of success, the least disruption and the most positive impact for the long term."
