Northstowe gears up for best running festival yet

The Northstowe Running Festival takes place on Saturday 31 August.

Organisers are gearing up for one of their best yet.

Now in its fourth year, the event supported by Star Radio for the first time, sees hundreds of people pound the streets of Northstowe and the surrounding South Cambridgeshire countryside.

There's an option for runners to take part in a 5K, 10K, Half Marathon or Family Mile, all starting on Western Park.

The festival is raising money for a range of local charities. The partners this year are Camsight, Care Network Cambridgeshire, Cornerstone Care in Confidence and the children's mental health charity Blue Smile.

Two local schools are also supported, Hatton Park Primary and Northstowe Secondary College.

Some of the routes have been adjusted this year to take in new areas of Northstowe, as the town grows.

There's also activities for children including a climbing wall, live music and a screening of The Greatest Showman on an outdoor cinema screen in the evening.

Star Radio will be presenting the stage and reporting from the festival on the day.
