Police name man killed in lorry crash in Soham

The A142 was shut between Hasse Road and the East Fen Drove junction for most of Monday.

At about 10.30am on Monday 6 November 2023, police were called to a collision involving a Mercedes Actros HGV and a black Mini.

Officers and paramedics attended, but the driver of the Mini, a man in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have now named him as 77-year-old Kevin Boswell from Burwell.

The driver of the lorry was unhurt.

The road was shut for several hours for recovery work to take place.

Detective Inspector Garry Webb from Cambridgeshire Police:

“A man has tragically lost his life in this collision and my thoughts are with his family and friends at this very difficult time.

“I am appealing to anyone who may have seen the collision, or either vehicle prior to it, to please get in touch.”
