Plans to roll out a 20 mile per hour speed limit in Huntingdon have been approved.
This means that speeds on most residential streets will become 20mph from this autumn, and most of the main through routes and industrial areas will remain at their existing speed limits.
The decision was discussed at the Highways and Transport Committee on Tuesday 23 July 2024 at Huntingdon Town Hall, after a public consultation ran through January and February.
Studies suggest reducing speed limits from 30mph to 20mph can cut pollution by 30 per cent and reduce the chance of a severe injury in the event of a crash by 60 per cent.
