At 3.59am on Tuesday (27) we were called to a flat fire in Station Place, Trumpington.
Firefighters were called to a fire in a first floor flat in student accommodation. When crews arrived, the six storey building was evacuated of about 100 people.
Two crews from Cambridge, a crew from Cottenham, Linton, Burwell, and a support vehicle and command support unit from Huntingdon attended.
Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels and a jet to extinguish the fire by 5am.
There were no casualties. A full fire investigation will take place to determine the cause of the fire.
