Midfielder James Brophy has signed a two-year contract at Cambridge United.

The 29-year-old has been a mainstay in the team for the past three years, making over 150 appearances for the U's since joining in 2021.

He now signs a new deal to extend his stay at the Abbey ahead of the team's return for pre-season.

"I am thrilled to be staying with the club and continuing my time here at Cambridge United" Brophy said.

Cambridge United head coach Garry Monk:

"James has been a big part of the team over the past three seasons, and I'm really happy that he has decided to continue with the club as we seek to grow further.

"He brings a level of experience, quality and enthusiasm that this team really benefits from.

"His loyalty to the club has been clear to see and I'm looking forward to continue working with him in 2024/25."
