Crews Tackle Addenbrookes Fire

Blaze at Cambridge hospital was "accidental".

Just after 8.30pm on Thursday night, two crews from Cambridge, one crew from Sawston, one crew from Linton and one crew from Burwell were called to a fire at the hospital.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire involving an extraction unit and ducting. The concourse area was fully evacuated. Wearing breathing apparatus the crews extinguished the fire using hose reels and a jet and checked the area using a thermal imagine camera.

The crews returned to their stations by 11.30pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
