Cambridge Home To Riskiest Road For Cyclists

A city centre route reported the highest number of crashes in the UK outside London according to a new report.

Hills Road in Cambridge topped the table with 93 crashes involving cyclists in the past three years.

The Times analysed the UK's national accidents database which includes details of every crash that police dealt with.

The research showed that most crashes occurred at junctions with the majority involving cyclists being hit by a vehicle. Nationally 4,092 cyclists were killed on the counfry's roads last year, an increase of 11 percent compared to a decade ago.

The government recently pledged to spend £2 billion on improving cycling infrastructure.
