Appeal following serious collision on A14

The collision left a man in a critical condition in hospital.

The collision involving a black Vauxhall Corsa and an HGV happened at about 4.50am today (29 August) on the A14 near Chippenham.

Ambulance crews attended and the man in his 30s, who was driving the Vauxhall, was taken to Addenbrookes Hospital with serious injuries.

The road was closed while the vehicles were recovered.

A 33-year-old man from Kent was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst disqualified and remains in custody.

Anyone who witnessed the collision should call 101 and ask to speak to a member of the Road Policing Unit, quoting Op Clements.
